How should you prepare for your gynecological exam?
- Schedule it at a time when you do not have your period.
- Come prepared to ask any questions you have during your appointment.
- Do not to use any creams, douches, spermicides, or tampons for 24-48 hours prior to the exam.
- Learn as much as you can about your own and your family’s (siblings, parents, grandparents) medical history prior to your appointment.
- Allow about 45 minutes to one hour for your appointment.
