Q: What is the Social Justice & Leadership Summit?

The Social Justice & Leadership Summit is an opportunity for UMW students to develop an applicable understanding of leadership, social justice, and ally ship. It will provide students with an opportunity to build coalitions across cultural barriers, strengthen advocacy, and support the promotion of an equal, equitable campus culture and climate at UMW.

Q: When is check-in?

All attendees are asked to check-in between 8:15AM & 9:00AM in the Digital Auditorium (1st Floor, HCC). Students will receive their summit materials, t-shirts, and buttons.

Q: When does the program start?

The Social Justice & Leadership Summit Opening Ceremony, with remarks by President Paino and Dr. Landphair, will take place promptly at 9:00AM on Saturday, March 24th at the Digital Auditorium.

Q: What will be provided?

Social Justice & Leadership Summit participants will be provided with:

  • Meals for breakfast and lunch
  • Note taking materials and folders
  • Certificates of participation

Q: Do I have to stay for the entire Summit?

Due to the content being provided, it is required that students stay for the entire Summit.
