About Safe Zone

What does the Safe Zone sticker or button mean? These symbols indicate that the owner has attended a UMW Safe Zone training and signed a pledge to comply with the UMW Safe Zone mission. It does not mean that the owner identifies as LGBTQ. Instead, it indicates that the owner has pledged to be a supportive and affirming ally of the LGBTQ community.
Safe Zone trainers: View the list of Safe Zone trainers. These are the individuals who generously dedicate time to planning and conducting UMW Safe Zone trainings on our campus. We are always looking for more trainers. Please contact safezone@umw.edu if you are interested in learning more about this opportunity.
