Memberships
Campus Recreation values the Mary Washington and Fredericksburg communities, which is why we offer memberships to a wide variety of individuals. Take advantage of the opportunity to stay involved with the community and be a part of all of the wonderful changes happening in the Fitness Center and within Campus Recreation.
Member Benefits
Moving your body frequently in a way that you enjoy can work wonders for your physical health as well as your mental, social, and emotional well-being. Science shows that active individuals experience better sleep, better stress management, and a higher quality of life.
Your Campus Recreation membership will grant you access to the recreational spaces in the Fitness Center and Goolrick Hall including strength and cardio equipment, basketball courts, the pool, locker rooms, and studio spaces. Access to some Campus Recreation programs (personal training, group fitness classes) and services (locker and towel rentals) are available to members for additional fees.

Community Members
Community memberships are available to anyone who does not have any of the above affiliations to UMW. This includes, but is not limited to, Mary Washington Healthcare staff, Germanna Community College faculty, staff and students, and Geico summer interns. See Facility Rules for information on our age restrictions.
Secondary Cardholder Memberships
Each UMW employee may request one “secondary ID” cardholder through Human Resources and the EagleONE ID office. A secondary cardholder can be a spouse or family member who is of the appropriate age to use the UMW Fitness Center, as noted in our Facility Rules. The secondary cardholder membership is the same price as a faculty/staff membership which, at this time, is free.
To obtain the secondary cardholder membership, the UMW employee and their intended secondary cardholder should visit Human Resources in George Washington Hall to get the appropriate form, fill it out, and then head to the EagleONE ID office in Lee Hall to obtain the secondary ID EagleONE card. After the card is obtained, the secondary cardholder may follow the steps outlined on this webpage to set up a user account on the Campus Rec Member Portal.

Members may sponsor guests by purchasing a daily guest pass for $5 per visit. The sponsor must be present at time of purchase and is responsible for all actions of the guest(s). Guests must be accompanied by their sponsor for the duration of their visit. Sponsors will be held accountable for any rule violations, equipment replacement, or damages caused by their guests and may result in facility suspension. Guests must present a valid photo I.D. to verify age and name. UMW Campus Recreation reserves the right to refuse admittance.
