Campus Recreation values the Mary Washington and Fredericksburg communities, which is why we offer memberships to a wide variety of individuals. Take advantage of the opportunity to stay involved with the community and be a part of all of the wonderful changes happening in the Fitness Center and within Campus Recreation.
A Message To Our Members:
Your patience is much appreciated as we have worked collaboratively with campus partners to create policies and procedures for returning to life on campus with COVID. The university visitor policy has been updated in an effort to reduce the risk of spreading disease on campus and prohibits Campus Recreation from allowing anyone other than students, faculty or staff into the facility at this time.
We have worked with university administration in an effort to get an exception to this rule for the gym, but the university is understandably being cautious about who can access UMW facilities. The current plan is to reassess the visitor policy at the end of the semester.
We thank you for your understanding and we recognize that in no way is this convenient or ideal. While we understand this is not the news you may have hoped for, we are grateful for your continued support and we look forward to serving you in person when it is deemed safe to do so.
Your friends in wellness,
UMW Campus Recreation
Moving your body frequently in a way that you enjoy can work wonders for your physical health as well as your mental, social, and emotional well-being. Science shows that active individuals experience better sleep, better stress management, and a higher quality of life.
Your Campus Recreation membership will grant you access to the recreational spaces in the Fitness Center and Goolrick Hall including strength and cardio equipment, basketball courts, the pool, locker rooms, and studio spaces. Access to some Campus Recreation programs (personal training, group fitness classes) and services (locker and towel rentals) are available to members for additional fees.
We are not accepting guests or new members at this time due to COVID-19.

Secondary Cardholder Memberships
Each UMW employee may request one “secondary ID” cardholder through Human Resources and the EagleONE ID office. The secondary cardholder membership is the same price as a faculty/staff membership which, at this time, is free.
To obtain the secondary cardholder membership, the UMW employee and their intended secondary cardholder should visit Human Resources in George Washington Hall to get the appropriate form, fill it out, and then head to the EagleONE ID office in Lee Hall office 110 between 9am-5pm Monday-Friday to obtain the secondary ID EagleONE card. After the card is obtained, the secondary cardholder may follow the steps outlined on this webpage to set up a user account on the Campus Rec Member Portal.
