Eagle Awards Ceremony
The Eagle Awards Ceremony, planned in collaboration between the Office of Student Activities & Engagement and the Center for Community Engagement, will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 6pm in the Cedric Rucker University Center Chandler Ballroom. Any member of the UMW community is invited to submit nominations here. Deadline for submissions is Friday, March 15 (please note, nominations for the Grace Mann Launch Award are due Monday, March 11).

The University of Mary Washington Eagle Awards highlights students, student organizations, staff, and faculty who have provided leadership and contributed outstanding service through involvement in activities and organizations. The Eagle Awards are an opportunity for the University community to recognize those who have made extraordinary contributions to the campus and greater community.
Nominations: Any member of the student body, faculty, and staff can nominate deserving students or organizations. Only students can nominate a faculty or staff member for the Giving Tree Award. Individuals may not nominate themselves. Review the list of awards to determine which one you wish to nominate an individual for and then select and complete the appropriate nomination form in myUMW. Follow the directions on the form for required information and submission procedures. There will also be an opportunity to submit information about a program or initiative you would like us to highlight during the video.
NOTE: The Alumni and BLS awards are selected via a separate process. For the Grace Mann Launch Award, finalists will be contacted for an interview. Not every candidate will be selected for an interview. Like all the other awards, the recipient will be announced at the ceremony. Individuals and organizations may be nominated in multiple categories although they will only be recognized in one. Students may be nominated for individual awards and as part of an organization and may be recognized in both. However, we love to spread the wealth! The point of this ceremony is not for two individuals or clubs to receive multiple awards. Award winners as well as all nominees in each category will be recognized at the Eagle Awards ceremony. If you have direct questions regarding the nomination process, contact Student Activities and Engagement at sae@umw.edu or 540-654-1061.
