Talley Center for Counseling Services
The Talley Center offers individual and group therapy, psychiatric services, and referrals for full-time undergraduate UMW students. Transitioning from military to college can be challenging, but counselors provide confidential support during this period. Licensed clinicians are available for consultation and crisis intervention.

Speaking and Writing Center
The Speaking and Writing Center (SWC) supports all speaking and writing projects for any class at UMW through free consultations, helping students improve communication skills at any stage. It aims to enhance undergraduate and graduate education via tutorials, workshops, and outreach. The SWC encourages lifelong learning by motivating students to apply their knowledge and develop habits that improve their skills during and after their time at UMW.

Digital Knowledge Center (DKC) – Hurley Convergence Center Room 408

The Digital Knowledge Center (DKC) offers students personalized or small group consultations on technologies like web publishing, video, audio, and infographics. The DKC Workspace provides a space for experimenting with digital and analog tools, including a 3D Print Lab, Podcasting Studio, and advanced hardware and software.

This is a free pantry on campus that offers food, clothing, dorm supplies, toiletries, and anything from our community that can support our UMW community.

The GHRC is located on the 5th floor of Lee Hall. Take the elevator closest to Monroe Hall to floor “A” (for attic). The GHRC is open any time Lee Hall is open during the school year.

Student Health Center
The Student Health Center (SHC) is a weekday clinic for UMW students, serving only undergraduates. It handles routine and acute healthcare, not emergencies, and lacks comprehensive services like long-term disease management or hospital care. As a nonprofit, it doesn’t offer costly X-ray or lab services and doesn’t work with insurance plans, so it cannot process medication or specialist pre-authorizations.
