Applications for Break Housing received by the Office of Residence Life by the published deadlines are approved if the following conditions are present.  The student: is unable to leave for the break. is unable to leave until after the residence halls have closed. needs to return prior to the residence halls reopening. Flower Delivery

Parents or friends who wish to send flowers to a residential student should have them delivered to the Office of Residence Life (Marye House). The street address is: 1301 College Ave. Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Staff members will then notify the student who can pick up the flowers from the office in Marye House. FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. These rights include: 1. The right to inspect and review the student’s education records within 45 days from the day the University receives a request for access. 2. The right to request an amendment of the student’s education records that the student believes to be inaccurate. 3. The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student’s education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. 4. The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by University of Mary Washington to comply with the requirements of FERPA. Signature Events

Residence Life is designating a series of events on campus as Signature Events of the Residential Curriculum. These Signature Events are events co-sponsored by other departments, offices, or organizations on campus and the Office of Residence Life. In order to be designated a Signature Event the event must support one or more of the goals of the Residential Curriculum. As part of the partnership the Office of Residence Life works with RAs to encourage students to attend these Signature Event and promote the event on our website and in any publications created for the Residential Curriculum.
