| In their final homestand this past weekend the Eagles dropped two games to Virginia Tech, 10 - 2 and 13 - 9. The first game of Sunday's double header belonged to the Hokie hitters. In the second game, the Eagles clung to a late inning lead and were poised to spoil Virginia Tech's bid for an undefeated season. In their final at bat Virginia Tech plated six players to grab a 13 - 7 lead. The Eagles responded quickly in the home half of the 7th by scoring two runs of their own. With two on, two out and the tying run at the plate the Hokies preserved their season of perfection by retiring the side. |

| The Eagles took both games of their doubleheader this past Saturday against the University of Virginia, 4-2 and 12-11. In the first game, UMW Pitcher Trey Ashley went the distance for the Eagles. Assisted by solid performances in the field from numerous players, Trey pitched six scoreless innings en route to picking up the win. |
| In the second game, UMW leadoff hitter Daniel Blevins got things started with a solo homerun. The Eagles scored two more times in the inning to give starting pitcher Zach Darden an early 3-0 lead. The Cavaliers struck back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first to tie. The Eagles refused to relinquish momentum or the lead as the two teams exchanged scores throughout the afternoon. Greg Early picked up the win for UMW after entering with bases loaded and two out in the 5th. |

| The Eagles traveled to James Madison University this past weekend for three games against the Dukes. After losing the opener of a double header on Saturday 6-0, the Eagles rallied to win the second game by a score of 7-5. Senior Zach Darden threw a 130+ pitch complete game to earn the win. A 3-run, 6th inning homer by Junior Lucas Balderson helped seal the Eagle victory. The Dukes bested UMW on Sunday in the series finale 11-3. |
