Black Student Association (BSA)
The Black Student Association (BSA) is an active organization that serves to create a forum for students of all races to learn about the cultures and history of African-Americans. In our weekly meetings, we address contemporary issues affecting the African-American community, and educate our members about African-American facts through a number of means including engaging discussions, exciting games, and intriguing trivia. We create a welcoming atmosphere for students in an effort to yield positive learning experiences. Our events include Kwanzaa Celebration, Talent Show, and celebrations honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Dr. James Leonard Farmer Jr. During the spring, we also sponsor five consecutive days of events collectively known as BSA Week. This past year included a Gospel Extravaganza, Open Mic Night, and the much-anticipated BSA Game Night. We also co-sponsor keynote speakers during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Week in January and Black History Month in February.
