Trip Leaders
This position will oversee the planning and logistics of his/her respective Alternative Service Break trip. Previous participation on the trips is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Select trip location from Collegiate Challenge or Break Away lists.
- Assist Recruitment and Social Events Coordinators in planning the Interest Meeting and recruiting participants
- Communicate with service site about lodging, food, itinerary, arrival and departure, etc.
- Work with co-leader to establish a trip itinerary with details of departure, arrival, work schedule, free time activities, etc
- Work with advisors on budget
- Assist Donation and Fundraising Coordinator with fundraising and communicating fundraising event details with trip participants and with identifying businesses to reach out to ask for donations/discounts
- Keep track of participant payments and assist in getting participants paid in full
- Assist the Recruitment and Social Events Coordinator in planning and then participate in pre- and post-trip events
Coordinators
These positions will oversee specific function areas of the ASB program. Previous participation on the trips is not required.
Donation and Fundraising Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate letter writing campaign & make sure each participant participates.
- Assist COAR with planning the Variety Show and communicate with trip leaders about how participants can help
- Set up fundraisers and coordinate trip participation
- Contact businesses local to the trips’ destinations to ask about donations/discounts
Recruitment and Social Events Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Plan interest meeting
- Develop interest meeting content with input from trip leaders, coordinators, and advisors
- Develop marketing strategy for the program
- Plan pre- and post-trip events
