Into the Streets

On Saturday October 5th, 135 students went into the community to make a difference. Students signed up for one of six service activities: building picnic tables with Habitat for Humanity, painting rain barrels with Friends of the Rappahannock,  putting together meals for Stop Hunger Now, making paracord bracelets, cleaning up the community cemetery, or making meals at the Micah Respite House. Volunteers built 6 picnic tables, 20 rain barrels, packed 10,000 meals, made 52 paracord bracelets, made one cemetery beautiful, and made one hot meal for residents at the respite house. The center logged a total of over 300 hours with an economic impact of $8,000!
