Make an Appointment

Yes, just as with other health care providers, CAPS services are provided by appointment and do not provide “walk-in” hours, although we do have crisis appointments available to students daily. Appointments are easy to schedule, either by calling CAPS or stopping by.

What can students expect when calling for an appointment?

When calling students must simply say that s/he wishes to make an appointment with one of the CAPS staff members. Our administrative assistant will ask some basic information, including how we may contact the student, if necessary. The student will also be asked if s/he is in crisis. If an individual is in crisis our assistant will ask for some additional information and will work to find the earliest possible appointment time. Whether in crisis or not, a student will usually receive an appointment time during his/her first contact with the CAPS office. Ideally, first appointments will fall within two weeks of the first contact with CAPS, however this may not always be possible during times of high demand.

Students are asked to come to CAPS about 15 minutes prior to the start of their first session to complete our registration forms.
