Campus Recreation

Be Fit, Be Well, Be Active…Soar Like an Eagle!

The Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Mary Washington supports the overall mission of the University and the Division of Student Affairs by providing all members of the University community with opportunities to acquire lifelong leadership, fitness, and leisure skills to complement the pursuit of intellectual and interpersonal skills through a comprehensive recreation, sports, and fitness program. Students have the opportunity to develop these specific skills as participants in our programs by taking on roles as staff members of the Fitness Center and the Intramural Sports Program, leading our group fitness classes, and helping to administer one of the UMW Sport Clubs.

Programs – UMW Campus Recreation offers a wide variety of tournaments and sports leagues each semester. The tournaments are held almost every weekend and the league play runs on Sundays and during the week. Leagues are open to faculty, staff, and students, with divisions set up to provide opportunities for men, women and co-ed teams of all skill levels.

If you have any questions or comments about the Campus Recreation Department or any Campus Recreation programming, please feel free to contact Campus Recreation Director Mark Mermelstein. Your comments help us make our programming better! Thanks!
